Giving bikes a second life. Giving people a way forward.

 

A bike is more than two wheels. For someone without reliable transportation, it can mean getting to work, making a doctor’s appointment, picking up groceries, or simply having the freedom to get where they need to go. Second Gear is a program of that provides repaired, ready-to-ride bicycles to people who need reliable transportation. Through donated bikes, volunteer hands and financial support, we take gently used bicycles, get them back on the road and put them into the hands of people who can use them to move forward.

Ways to Get Involved:

• Have an adult bike you're no longer riding? Give it a second life. We accept new and gently used adult bicycles that our volunteers can inspect, repair and prepare for their next rider. [DONATE A BIKE]​

• You don't have to be an expert bike mechanic to help. Whether you know your way around a repair stand or simply want to lend a hand, volunteers help us collect, repair, prepare and distribute bikes. [JOIN THE CREW]
